For the past few weeks, first-grade students have been learning about navigation through a step-by-step, fun project.
They first learned how to read a map in a familiar setting: the playground. This first step helped them get their bearings, identify specific landmarks, and follow a simple route.

This week, they continued their outdoor learning during a field trip to the forest. Using a map, the students observed their surroundings, compared natural features with the landmarks indicated on the map, and successfully found their way back.

This activity not only develops map-reading skills, but also fosters independence, concentration, and teamwork.

🔜 Next step: an orientation session with real checkpoints to find, scheduled for next Tuesday! A great adventure lies ahead for our young explorers.
