Throughout the year, the fifth-grade students at EFIB read and studied *Ren the Ninja*, a children’s manga written by Miyuki Tsuji, who is also known for being the official German translator of the *Naruto* volumes.
This project was carried out in collaboration with the École Française de Hambourg, with which the students communicated regularly. Together, they prepared a series of questions for the author about her writing and translation work, her experience as an expatriate, and language learning.
The final session took place in Bern and via videoconference for the students at the French School of Hamburg: it was a meaningful and inspiring experience, during which Ms. Tsuji generously answered the many questions posed by the two classes.
To wrap up this wonderful adventure, each student received an autograph on their favorite page of the manga—a memorable keepsake from a literary and linguistic project with an intercultural dimension.
