This Monday, September 1, the school was buzzing with excitement as classes resumed, from kindergarten through middle school. The hallways were once again filled with children’s laughter, colorful backpacks, and the excitement of seeing everyone again.
A back-to-school season marked by a spirit of camaraderie
Early in the morning, students, parents, and teachers gathered for the traditional Parents’ Coffee Hour ☕.
This friendly gathering gave families a chance to get to know one another, reconnect after the summer, and meet the key people involved in the school’s daily life:
-
parent representatives,
-
the management committee,
-
as well as the Berne Accueil association, an active French-speaking and Francophile partner in the region.
New initiatives to help us learn and live together better
Among the new initiatives this school year is the introduction of a " digital break" at the middle school: secure individual lockers are now available to store cell phones during the school day. This program is designed to promote concentration, well-being, and a calm school environment.
A common theme for the year: creativity and critical thinking
The 2025–2026 EFE school year will revolve around a central theme: “Fostering Creativity and Critical Thinking in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” This overarching theme will guide the educational projects, professional development initiatives, and discussions taking place within the school.
A collective dynamic
Thanks to the dedication of our teaching and administrative staff, and the support of our families, the school is starting this new school year with energy and optimism. This positive momentum bodes well for the many projects, discoveries, and successes to come.
