The national diploma of the brevet evaluates the knowledge and skills acquired at the end of the collège. The brevet does not condition access to a higher class at the end of third grade.
Since the 2017 curriculum reform, the brevet des collèges has evolved in its grading and tests.
The main points to remember:
- A notation on the skills acquired at the end of the third grade,
- Written subjects on the final exam: French, Mathematics, History-Geography and two subjects from among Physical Sciences, Technology and Earth Sciences,
- An oral presentation on a practical interdisciplinary course (E.P.I), an educational pathway or the history of the arts done during the year,
- The total is marked out of 800 points.

The 1st and 2nd level ASSR are obtained as part of the compulsory teaching of road safety rules. They are delivered, after a control of the theoretical knowledge of road safety, during the school time.
The 1st level ASSR test is organized :

How the test is administered
The test takes the form of 20 video sequences illustrating multiple choice questions and requires a minimum score of 10/20.
Students who obtain at least a mark of 10/20 in the test are awarded the ASSR 1st level or 2nd level.
